Our Story

Two people from Mumbai. One simple belief — fragrance should feel genuinely yours.

We created Babylon Parfum after years of seeing fragrance become more about marketing than the person wearing it.
So we went back to the basics — testing hundreds of scents, listening to real people, and keeping only what we would wear ourselves.

The result is a collection of thoughtfully made fragrances, designed to perform in Indian weather and made without unnecessary complexity.

No loud promises. No pretence. Just fragrances made to be worn, loved, and truly yours.

We're Not Who You'd Expect

A note from the founders of Babylon Parfum

We'll be honest with you. We are not perfumers in white lab coats. We are not a legacy house with a French address and a story that begins in 1847. We are two people from Mumbai who got tired of being disappointed.

That's really where this starts.

One of us has spent thirteen years inside the fragrance industry. Not on the edges of it — inside it. Sourcing, understanding, selling, watching how people respond to scent. Thirteen years of seeing what works, what doesn't, and more importantly, what the industry keeps getting wrong.

The other comes from design. A career built on the belief that details are not small things — they are the thing. That what something looks like, feels like, and says about you before you speak, matters enormously.

We became friends the way most good things happen — gradually, then all at once.

For a long time, we watched something that bothered us.

People were spending real money on fragrance. Not pocket change — real money. And walking away with something they couldn't quite use. Something that felt like it was made for a version of them that didn't exist. A fragrance built around a concept, a campaign, a celebrity — everything except the actual human being who would wear it.

We noticed that a lot of perfume marketing was selling a feeling that the fragrance itself could never deliver. Grand promises. Loud ideas. Bottles that looked impressive on a shelf and smelled forgettable on skin.

We didn't want to build that.

So we didn't rush.

Over the course of about a year, we went through hundreds of fragrances — local and international. We tested, we rejected, we went back. We asked a simple question every single time: would a real person actually wear this, every day, and feel good?

Most didn't pass.

The four that did, became Poise, Beauty, Excess, and Power.

We wear them ourselves. Every day. That is not a marketing line — it is the most basic standard we could hold ourselves to. If we wouldn't reach for it on a Monday morning, it doesn't leave our hands.

Before any fragrance reaches you, it has been reviewed by hundreds of real people. Not focus groups. Not industry insiders. People like you, in this weather, in this city, going about their actual lives. Their honest feedback — not ours — is what decides whether something is ready.

And when we say this weather, we mean it. India is not one climate. It is humidity and heat and dust and monsoon and dry winter air. Our fragrance ratios are specifically tested to perform through all of it — to last on your skin the way a fragrance should, not fade thirty minutes after you've stepped outside.

Are they dupes? We won't answer that directly. What we will say is this — if it works on your skin, if it becomes yours, then it works. That's the only metric that matters to us.

We also made a decision early on about what would not go into our fragrances. There are stabilisers commonly used in the industry that we chose to leave out entirely. Our fragrance oils are carefully curated — not because we needed a selling point, but because we were making something we intended to put on our own skin, and on yours. That line of thinking changes every decision you make.

We are bootstrapped. There are no investors behind Babylon Parfum, no crore-rupee marketing budgets, no algorithm telling us what to make next. Just two people who believe that a thoughtfully made fragrance, priced honestly, should be available to anyone who wants to smell genuinely good.

Not remarkable. Not powerful. Not like someone else.

Just — good. Honestly and quietly.

We built Babylon Parfum because we wanted something we could actually use. It turns out, so did a lot of other people.

We hope you find yours.
